What the LLC's Name Must Include
The LLC's name must include an LLC ending. Accepted endings include "Limited Liability Company", "LLC" and "L.L.C.", and the law allows others as well. We have not confirmed whether the ending has to come last.

Professional LLCs in New York
In New York, a professional LLC files a separate form, the Articles of Organization (Professional Service), instead of the Articles of Organization. Also required: A Certificate of Good Standing from the Appellate Division (for lawyers) or a Certificate of Authority (Form PLS709) from the State Education Department, filed with the articles. The articles must also state the profession and the names and residence addresses of the original members and managers. Your profession's licensing board may have requirements of its own, so check with it before you file.

New York LLCs must also publish a notice of formation in two county newspapers and file a Certificate of Publication within 120 days, or lose the authority to do business in the state until they comply.
