Operating an LLC in Another State
An LLC stays registered in the state where it was formed for as long as it exists, and operating in a second state generally means registering that same LLC there too, as a foreign LLC, rather than forming a new one. Whether a given activity counts as doing business is a question of fact that each state defines for itself, so the state's own rule is what decides it, not this page.
