Does a landscaping business need a license in Indiana?
Indiana issues no statewide license for a landscaping business. Local registrations and specialty permits can still apply.
Indiana issues no state landscaping license and no state contractor license that reaches landscape construction. The Professional Licensing Agency's list of the professions it regulates carries architects and landscape architects, plumbing, home inspection and manufactured home installers, and no entry for a landscaper or a general or building contractor. The Office of Indiana State Chemist licenses pesticide applicators, and contractor licensing otherwise sits with counties and municipalities.
A state that issues no license of its own is not a state with no rules. City and county business registrations, specialty endorsements and sales tax permits are set separately, and we do not track them page by page, so confirm those with Indiana and with the locality you work in.

The entity filing is separate from anything the license requires. In Indiana it is made with the Indiana Secretary of State. File directly with the state here.
