Professional LLCs in Virginia
In Virginia, a professional LLC files a separate form, the Articles of Organization of a Virginia Professional Limited Liability Company (Form LLC1103), instead of the Articles of Organization. Your profession's licensing board may have requirements of its own, so check with it before you file.
Worth Knowing in Virginia
The Virginia form also asks which qualification the registered agent meets, for example a Virginia resident who is a member or manager of the LLC or a member of the Virginia State Bar, or a business entity authorized to do business in Virginia. Filed documents can be viewed free of charge in the Clerk's Information System. A certified copy ordered online costs $6 per request regardless of page count. By mail, a certified copy costs $6 per document plus a copy charge of $10 for 26 to 50 pages or $20 for 51 pages or more.
