Professional LLCs in Kentucky
In Kentucky, a professional LLC files a separate form, the Articles of Organization, Professional Limited Liability Company (Form PLC), instead of the Articles of Organization. Also required: The professional form must name the profession to be practiced through the LLC, and the name must end with "professional limited liability company", "professional limited company", "PLLC" or "PLC". Your profession's licensing board may have requirements of its own, so check with it before you file.
Worth Knowing in Kentucky
Kentucky asks for one address for the principal office: its mailing address, which may be a post office box. A business at least 51% owned by veterans pays no filing fee: it checks the veteran-owned box on the form and includes a copy of a DD-214 or an active-duty military ID for each veteran owner, with Social Security numbers, dates of birth and home addresses blacked out. A certified copy costs $10 for a document of five pages or fewer ($5 per request plus $5 for the certificate), plus 50 cents for each page after the fifth.
