What the LLC's Name Must Include
The LLC's name must include an LLC ending. Accepted endings include "Limited Liability Company", "Limited Liability Co.", "Ltd. Liability Company", "Ltd. Liability Co.", "Limited Company", "Limited Co.", "Ltd. Company", "Ltd. Co.", "L.L.C.", "LLC", "L.C." and "LC", and the law allows others as well.

Professional LLCs in Utah
In Utah, a professional LLC is formed with the same Certificate of Organization. Also required: The certificate must also describe the profession to be practiced and give the name and street address of each member or manager, and the name must contain "Professional Limited Liability Company", "P.L.L.C." or "PLLC". Your profession's licensing board may have requirements of its own, so check with it before you file.
Worth Knowing in Utah
Utah takes this filing online only, through the state's business registration portal. A certified copy costs $12 plus 30 cents per page. Utah moves its LLC statute to Title 16, Chapter 20 of the Utah Code on October 1, 2026, and the certificate of organization requirements carry over as Section 16-20-201.
