Wyoming Gives Veterans Nothing on LLC Fees. Here's What Is Left.
Same filing fee, same annual report licence tax, and no state veteran-owned business certification that we could find. Federal certification is the route a Wyoming veteran contractor works with.

No: Wyoming charges veterans the same $100 to file articles of organization and the same minimum annual report licence tax as every other filer, and we found no state veteran-owned business certification programme.
The fee negative is solid. The Secretary of State's current Business Division fee schedule enumerates every filing fee by entity type and contains no veteran, military or service-disabled exemption anywhere in it. The certification negative is weaker, and we would rather tell you that than dress it up: it rests on the absence of any programme on the Wyoming Veterans Commission's site plus a search sweep, not on a statute stating that no programme exists. Read it as none found rather than none exists, and put a call to the Commission on your list if certification matters to your business model.

Why Wyoming Has No Veteran LLC Fee Waiver
Two costs, neither adjusted for service. Articles of organization are priced on the same schedule as every other Wyoming entity type, and that schedule was revised recently enough that a missing veteran line is not an oversight from a decade ago. The yearly cost is not a flat fee at all, which trips people up when they compare states. Wyoming's annual report carries a licence tax calculated on assets located and employed in Wyoming, with a floor underneath it, so a company holding real property and equipment here pays more than the minimum while a company with almost nothing in-state pays the floor. Veterans compute it exactly the same way. There is no statewide general business licence to be waived either, and no veteran waiver of state occupational licence fees turned up in the research.
Authority: Wyoming Secretary of State, Business Division Filing Fee Schedule effective July 1, 2026 (revised June 2026): 'Limited Liability Companies: Articles of Organization*/Continuance/Domestication .... $100.00'. The schedule lists no veteran, military or service-disabled exemption for any entity type. — sos.wyo.gov
Veteran-Owned Business Certification in Wyoming
Wyoming does not run its own veteran-owned business certification. That means there is no state certificate to apply for — but it also means the federal certification is the one that matters, and it is free.
The SBA’s VetCert program certifies Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) for federal contracting. Certification is free and is handled entirely at veterans.certify.sba.gov.
State Benefits vs Federal Benefits — What Is Actually Different
Most of what gets published as “veteran LLC benefits in Wyoming” is actually federal, and identical in all 50 states. Three separate things get run together:
| What it is | Who runs it | Does it make forming an LLC cheaper? |
|---|---|---|
| Filing-fee waiver | Wyoming Secretary of State, by statute | Not available in Wyoming |
| Veteran-owned business certification | U.S. Small Business Administration (VetCert) | No — it helps you win contracts, not file paperwork |
| SBA loans, VBOC counselling, VA benefits | Federal agencies | No — and they are the same in every state |
Certification is worth doing on its own merits, but it is not a discount on formation. If a page tells you Wyominggives veterans a “free LLC” and then links you to a certification portal, it has conflated the first row with the second.
Free Help for Veteran Business Owners in Wyoming
The Wyoming Veterans Commission sits inside the Wyoming Military Department and publishes 307-777-8152. It is the state office to call, and it is also where to test the certification negative above if you want a person rather than a search result telling you there is nothing. For anything about filings, fees or the annual report licence tax, the Secretary of State's Business Division answers directly and publishes the fee schedule these figures come from. Because there is no state programme to administer, Wyoming has no veteran business certification office to send you to.

Forming the LLC Itself
Nothing about the formation process changes because you are a veteran — the forms, the registered agent requirement and the annual filing are the same. The full walkthrough lives in our Wyoming formation guide rather than being repeated here.
