Best LLC Bank Accounts in Mississippi

Deposit insurance: Mercury, Relay, Bluevine, Found, Novo and Lili are financial technology companies, not FDIC-insured banks. Deposits are held at their partner banks: Choice Financial Group, Column N.A., Thread Bank, Coastal Community Bank, Lead Bank, Middlesex Federal Savings, F.A. and Sunrise Banks, N.A., each a Member FDIC. FDIC insurance covers the failure of the insured bank that holds the deposits. It does not cover the failure of the technology company. Because the account is held for you at the insured bank rather than by you, this pass-through coverage applies only if certain conditions are met, including proper account titling and records from which each owner's interest can be determined. Mercury, Relay, Bluevine and Lili spread balances across several insured banks through a sweep network, so more than one bank may hold part of a balance. The standard maximum is $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank, for each ownership category. Confirm current terms with the provider before you deposit.

Full-service branch offices the FDIC records in Mississippi for the 3 chartered banks compared on this page: Chase keeps 7 offices and is the only one of the 3 with any presence in the state. The FDIC records no Bank of America or U.S. Bank branch office in Mississippi. Between them that is 7 of the 958 full-service bank branches the FDIC records in Mississippi, 0.7% of the state total, with the rest run by the other 79 institutions that keep a branch here. The other 6 providers ranked alongside them are fintechs, which keep no branches in any state.
Counted as full-service brick-and-mortar offices (FDIC service type 11), so drive-throughs, limited-service and trust facilities are excluded. FDIC office counts are chartered-office counts and will not match a bank's own marketing branch count, which uses no published definition. Branch counts for Mississippi are the full-service brick-and-mortar offices recorded in the FDIC BankFind Suite, locations endpoint, snapshot 08/21/2026. FDIC office counts are chartered-office counts and will not match a bank's own marketing branch count, which uses no published definition. Fees and account terms were read from each provider's own pricing and legal pages on 2026-08-21.

The Mississippi banking market

A branch count means nothing without the state it sits in. The first two figures below are counted from the same FDIC index as the branch numbers in the table above, under the same definition, so they are directly comparable. The third answers a different question and is explained beneath it.

Full-service branches958
FDIC-insured institutions80
Headquartered in Mississippi57

Chase, Bank of America and U.S. Bank run 7 of those branches between them, 0.7% of the state total. The other 79 FDIC-insured institutions with a branch in Mississippi are not ranked here, so a local bank you already use may still be worth a call. Credit unions are in none of these counts, because they are insured through the National Credit Union Administration rather than the FDIC, and a small number carry private share insurance instead. The largest by assets of the FDIC-insured institutions with their main office in Mississippi is Hancock Whitney Bank, at $35.5 billion in its 03/31/2026 call report, and it runs 25 of the branches counted above. Main office is where the charter sits, not where the business is: an institution headquartered in Mississippi may take most of its deposits somewhere else, and the biggest charter in a state is not necessarily one that offers business accounts at all.

Nationally the 08/21/2026 snapshot records 71,985 full-service branches, belonging to the 4,242 FDIC-insured institutions active on that date. Asset figures on this page are each institution's own call-report value rather than the branch snapshot, the most recent of them dated 03/31/2026.
