Both the individual and the business entity are licensed, and plumbing apprentices hold registration licenses. Statute defines a master plumber to include a person, firm, corporation or limited liability company that hires plumbers or does the work as its own business.
The plumbing business itself must be licensed or registered, not only the people doing the work.
All business entities, corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and limited liability partnerships performing plumbing in New Hampshire must be licensed under the board's rules and registered with the secretary of state. The entity license is issued where an officer, partner, managing member or designee holds an active master plumber license, and the entity must show good standing and liability insurance.
