Does a plumbing business need a license in Arizona?

Arizona licenses plumbing statewide as a classification of the contractor license issued by the Registrar of Contractors, with separate commercial, residential and dual plumbing classifications. The license is issued to the contracting business, which qualifies through an individual qualifying party.
The plumbing business itself must be licensed or registered, not only the people doing the work.
A.R.S. 32-1151 makes it unlawful for a person, firm, partnership, corporation, association or other organization to act in the capacity of a contractor without a license in good standing, and A.R.S. 32-1122 requires the licensed entity to qualify through a qualifying party who passes the examinations. The license is held in the business name.
