Alabama LLCs pay $225 to form, a $200 Certificate of Formation fee plus the $25 name reservation the Secretary of State requires before the formation documents can be filed, and file no annual report. The Business Privilege Tax is computed on net worth at $0.25 to $1.75 per $1,000 depending on Alabama-apportioned federal taxable income, capped at $15,000, but for tax years beginning after December 31, 2023 the tax is fully exempt when the computed amount is $100 or less, so most small LLCs owe $0. Alabama taxes pass-through income at the owner level on the graduated individual income tax of 2% to 5%, with an optional electing pass-through entity regime available.
