Before transitioning into tech, he spent years as a commercial real estate professional closing deals totaling over 100,000 square feet, giving him firsthand experience with business formation and entity structuring. He built MyStateLLC to provide the free, state-specific LLC guidance he wished existed when forming his own companies.
Wise (formerly TransferWise) must verify your business before activating international transfers and multi-currency balances. For a Idaho LLC, Wise collects the business name as registered in Idaho, the EIN, a verifiable US business address, and identity information for all beneficial owners holding 25% or more of the company. Wise also requires a description of the business's products or services and cannot accept virtual office addresses as the primary trading address.
In Idaho the entity behind that check is an LLC created by filing a Certificate of Organization, which costs $100. Idaho does not publish a processing time for LLC filings, so treat state approval as the open-ended step in your timeline rather than the Wise Business review. Because Idaho names a member or manager on a routine public filing, the owner name Wise Business asks you to confirm is already a matter of public record.
What Wise Business requires, and how a Idaho LLC meets each
| Requirement | How your Idaho LLC satisfies it |
|---|---|
| Registered business name | Use the exact LLC name as Idaho recorded it on your Certificate of Organization; it must match your bank account holder name. |
| Employer / Taxpayer Identification Number | Provide your federal EIN (free from the IRS; non-US founders without an SSN must apply via Form SS-4 by fax or phone rather than the online tool) — independent of Idaho. |
| Business registered and trading address | Use a US street address registered to the LLC in Idaho (your Idaho registered-agent or virtual business address), since a PO box is usually rejected. |
| Beneficial owner identity (25%+ owners) | Provide a government ID for each beneficial owner named in your Idaho filings. Idaho names a member or manager on a routine public filing, so at least one name already matches state records. |
| Business registration documents | Upload the Certificate of Organization Idaho returned to you, stamped and approved. |
Idaho-specific things to watch
- Idaho names a member or manager on a routine public filing, so Wise Business's beneficial-owner check will line up with public state records — you still upload a government ID for each owner. (Idaho's annual report requires at least one member or manager (a 'governor'), and filings are public.)
- Idaho issues a Certificate of Organization rather than "Articles of Organization." When Wise Business asks for "formation documents," upload your Certificate of Organization.
Idaho sales tax & nexus rules for Wise Business sellers
Idaho charges a 6% state sales-tax rate. Payments through Wise Business are not covered by marketplace-facilitator laws — you collect and remit yourself. Registration is required before your first taxable sale if you have physical presence in Idaho (an in-state location, inventory, or employees), or once you cross Idaho's remote-seller economic-nexus threshold of $100,000 in sales in the previous or current calendar year.
Idaho has no transaction count threshold — only the $100,000 dollar threshold applies. Idaho's 6% state rate is the only statewide rate; cities do not impose additional sales taxes. The state is not part of the Streamlined Sales Tax program, so register directly through the Idaho State Tax Commission.

How to verify your Idaho LLC on Wise Business
- Registered business name. Use the exact LLC name as Idaho recorded it on your Certificate of Organization; it must match your bank account holder name.
- Employer / Taxpayer Identification Number. Provide your federal EIN (free from the IRS; non-US founders without an SSN must apply via Form SS-4 by fax or phone rather than the online tool) — independent of Idaho.
- Business registered and trading address. Use a US street address registered to the LLC in Idaho (your Idaho registered-agent or virtual business address), since a PO box is usually rejected.
- Beneficial owner identity (25%+ owners). Provide a government ID for each beneficial owner named in your Idaho filings. Idaho names a member or manager on a routine public filing, so at least one name already matches state records.
- Business registration documents. Upload the Certificate of Organization Idaho returned to you, stamped and approved.
Non-US founders with Idaho LLCs
Non-US beneficial owners of a Idaho LLC can verify with a non-US government photo ID instead of an SSN. Wise still requires a real US business trading address, and a Idaho registered-agent address alone is typically insufficient for that field. Non-US founders should establish a genuine operational address, in Idaho or wherever the business actually works from, or use a co-working space address.
