Marketplace Verification

Walmart Marketplace LLC Verification Guide — All 50 States (2026)

Walmart Marketplace requires sellers to pass a multi-step business verification process before listing products. For a US LLC, this includes providing an EIN (US Business Tax ID), completing a W-9 tax classification, submitting state business registration documentation, and verifying the identity of the legal representative. Walmart cross-checks all information with federal and state records, and the process typically takes a few minutes to a few business days. Payouts are disbursed via a connected payment processor — Payoneer is the default.

What Walmart Marketplace requires from an LLC

  • US Business Tax ID (EIN). An Employer Identification Number (EIN) issued by the IRS is mandatory. Walmart may also request an IRS EIN verification letter (LTR 147C) or SS-4 confirmation letter (CP575).
  • W-9 tax classification. US-based LLCs with an EIN complete a W-9 form. Tax information must precisely match IRS records. W-9s do not expire.
  • Business name and address match IRS records. Business entity information — legal name, address, and EIN — must match IRS and government records exactly. Discrepancies delay or block approval.
  • State business registration documentation. A state-issued business license, registration certificate, Articles of Incorporation, or Certificate of Good Standing showing the LLC is validly registered.
  • Legal representative personal ID. A government-issued photo ID (front and back) for the applicant or legal representative of the LLC. Must be clear, well-lit, and submitted in PNG, JPG, or PDF format.
  • Verified US business address. A verifiable US business address. Walmart may request a utility bill or authorization letter as proof of address.
  • Payment processor account for disbursements. Walmart pays sellers through a third-party payment processor. Payoneer is the default option; you must connect a Payoneer account or another approved processor to receive payouts.
