Payoneer is a global payment platform used by marketplace sellers, freelancers, and businesses to receive cross-border payments and access multi-currency accounts. For a Georgia LLC, Payoneer requires business registration documents (in Georgia, your Articles of Organization), an IRS EIN document, proof of business address, and identity information for beneficial owners. Payoneer is also the default payment processor for Walmart Marketplace seller payouts.
In Georgia the entity behind that check is an LLC created by filing Articles of Organization, which costs $110. Georgia publishes a turnaround of 7-10 business days online; 15 paper. Because Georgia names a member or manager on a routine public filing, the owner name Payoneer asks you to confirm is already a matter of public record.
What Payoneer requires, and how a Georgia LLC meets each
| Requirement | How your Georgia LLC satisfies it |
|---|---|
| Business registration certificate | Upload the Articles of Organization Georgia returned to you, stamped and approved. |
| IRS EIN document | Provide your federal EIN (free from the IRS; non-US founders without an SSN must apply via Form SS-4 by fax or phone rather than the online tool) — independent of Georgia. |
| Beneficial owner identity (25%+ owners) | Provide a government ID for each beneficial owner named in your Georgia filings. Georgia names a member or manager on a routine public filing, so at least one name already matches state records. |
| Business address proof | Use a US street address registered to the LLC in Georgia (your Georgia registered-agent or virtual business address), since a PO box is usually rejected. |
| Consistent business name across all documents | Use the exact LLC name as Georgia recorded it on your Articles of Organization; it must match your bank account holder name. |
Georgia-specific things to watch
- Georgia names a member or manager on a routine public filing, so Payoneer's beneficial-owner check will line up with public state records — you still upload a government ID for each owner. (Georgia's annual registration lists at least one manager or member (if member-managed), a public record.)
Georgia sales tax & nexus rules for Payoneer sellers
Georgia charges a 4% state sales-tax rate. Payments through Payoneer are not covered by marketplace-facilitator laws — you collect and remit yourself. Registration is required before your first taxable sale if you have physical presence in Georgia (an in-state location, inventory, or employees), or once you cross Georgia's remote-seller economic-nexus threshold of $100,000 in sales or 200 transactions in the previous or current calendar year.
Georgia uses the standard $100,000-or-200-transaction threshold. The state rate is 4%, but local jurisdictions add another 3-4%, bringing most areas to 7-8%. Georgia is part of the Streamlined Sales Tax (SST) program, so you can register centrally. Digital goods and software are taxable in Georgia.

Non-US founders with Georgia LLCs
Payoneer is widely used by non-US founders receiving marketplace payments worldwide. Non-US owners of a Georgia LLC verify with their own non-US government ID. The entity still needs a US business address and an EIN alongside its Georgia registration. Payoneer supports receiving payments in multiple currencies without a US bank account.
